ROBERT F. HALL, PRESIDENT
Mr. Hall has over 40 years of investment management experience. He received a B.A. degree in American Literature from Brown University. Mr. Hall was a standout in both football and baseball and was elected captain of each. As a senior, he was named winner of the George H. "Bulger" Lowe Award - New England's Outstanding Football Player. He was one of the only collegiate athletes to ever be drafted by 3 pro sports leagues, the AFL, NFL and MLB. He chose the NFL, and after playing for the Minnesota Vikings, started his investment career. He was a stockbroker with Paine Webber in Boston, and then served as an Investment Officer at Rhode Hospital Trust National Bank where he managed approximately $400 million in investment assets. At 29, he was appointed the youngest Vice President at Fleet National Bank in charge of the Pension Division, overseeing the management of over $1.2 billion in assets.
Mr. Hall Co-Founded The Providence Group Investment Advisory Company in 1976. He specialized in individual investment counseling and retirement fund management. Mr. Hall served as the company’s Principal and chaired its Investment Policy Committee before its sale to Fleet National Bank in 1996. During his time with The Providence Group, he oversaw the growth and management of about $800 million in assets. After its sale in 1998, he established Hall Capital.
In addition to his experience on several financial boards and charitable organizations, he is a Trustee Emeritus of Worcester Academy and Chairman of the Board of the Brown Football Association. He also is a co-founder of the Ivy Football Group.
JOHN P. TEIXEIRA, CPA, CFP, MST
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
John has over 16 years of accounting and financial experience. He was formerly a Principal of Sansiveri, Kimball, and company, LLP where he provided tax planning and compliance services for small businesses and high net worth individuals. He had previously served as a Senior International Tax Analyst at Textron, and before then was an Associate at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in its Financial Services Group. John graduated cum laude from Bryant University earning a B.S. degree in Accounting as well as an M.S. degree in Taxation. John is responsible for providing financial planning, portfolio management and tax advice to our clients.
CAROL J. MCCARTHY, SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
Carol has over 34 years of experience as Vice President of both The Providence Group and Hall Capital, as well as serving as Office Manager and Assistant to the President of Hall Capital. Her career includes positions in trust administration and portfolio management. Carol oversees SEC compliance. Her affinity for responsiveness and customer service contributed significantly to the growth of both The Providence Group and Hall Capital.
DIANE L. BALLEM, VICE PRESIDENT
Diane joined Hall Capital in 2008. She received a B.A. from Simmons College. She provides the organization and coordination of daily functions within the firm’s office. She provides client service support, quality control, and is the liaison between Hall Capital and TD Ameritrade.
ELIZABETH R. GRESH, ACCOUNT MANAGER
Mr. Hall’s daughter, Betsey, has 16 years of financial experience. Prior to joining Hall Capital in 2001, she was an administrative assistant at Citizens Bank. Betsey is responsible for special projects as well as providing client services.
STEPHEN M. CLAIR, PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Steve is a graduate of Rhode Island College where he received a B.S. in Economics. He earned his MBA at Salve Regina University. Steve became part of the Hall Capital team in 2012 as assistant research analyst. In 2014, Steve became research analyst, primarily responsible for fixed income and common stock analysis. In 2016, his responsibilities also included portfolio management and providing investor advice for 401(k) plans.
ANNE W. HALL, TREASURER
Mr. Hall’s wife is the treasurer of Hall Capital Management. Robin's principal responsibilities include overseeing the company’s bookkeeping as well as its administrative functions. She is a graduate of Garland Junior College and has a B.A. in Preservation Architecture from Roger Williams University.
ELIZABETH C. CONTE, ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATOR
Liz joined Hall Capital in 2016. As a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School, she previously worked for 17 years as a legal assistant for a law firm in Massachusetts. At Hall Capital, Liz is responsible for maintaining data integrity for client reporting and back office systems, processing new accounts, and providing client service.
