Bob has over 40 years of investment management experience and received a B.A. degree in American Literature from Brown University. He was a standout in both football and baseball. He was one of the only collegiate athletes to ever be drafted by 3 pro sports leagues, the AFL, NFL and MLB. He chose the NFL, and after playing for the Minnesota Vikings, started his investment career. He was a stockbroker with Paine Webber in Boston, and then served as an Investment Officer at Rhode Hospital Trust National Bank where he managed about $400 million in investment assets. At 29, he was appointed the youngest Vice President at Fleet National Bank in charge of the Pension Division, overseeing the management of over $1.2 billion in assets.

Bob Co-Founded The Providence Group Investment Advisory Company in 1976. He specialized in individual investment counseling and retirement fund management. He also served as the company’s Principal and chaired its Investment Committee before its sale to Fleet National Bank in 1996. During his time with The Providence Group, he oversaw the growth and management of about $800 million in assets.

In addition to his experience on financial boards and charitable organizations, including Save The Bay and Blithewold Mansion, he is a trustee of Worcester Academy and chairman of the board of the Brown Football Association. He also is a co-founder of the Ivy Football Group.
